This is the second time we have stayed at The West Wing and would certainly book again. Staying in the summer months means that most time is spent outside, but for those who like to stay indoors there are numerous comfortable chairs and sofas. Our group of 14 ranges in age from 18 to 94 so with 3 ground floor bedrooms, although rather small, are ideal for those less mobile and the upstairs bedrooms are of a great size.
The enclosed paddock is also great for the dog who spent much time out there running around and for the swimmers there is the opportunity to use the fabulous indoor heated pool. Finding a property with 7 bedrooms, including GF rooms, with the same number of bathrooms, or there abouts, at a reasonable price is extremely difficult, but The West Wing ticks all these boxes and is ideal.

Our extended family had an excellent weekend in the West Wing. There was ample space for 12 adults, it was very well equipped, the courtyard and gardens were lovely (and secure for our dog) and we enjoyed the private sessions in the good sized pool. Highly recommend and hope to return in the future. Thanks

The West Wing was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. Everything you need for self-catering is supplied and large nearby supermarket makes it easy for groceries. The pool was excellent, as was the surrounding paddocks. All in all we would recommend the West Wing of Sedgeford Hall.

Additional Information

The spacious, enclosed garden with large lawn, gravel area, bench seating and coal BBQ make a perfect setting for a day or evening spent outside with friends and family. The swimming pool a few moments’ walk away is an added bonus. You will be given your own sessions in which you and your guests can have totally private access to the pool.
The Main Hall & Theatre can be booked together with The West Wing to make up the whole of Sedgeford Hall. It can be opened up to make one large house with 14 bedrooms, which sleeps 29 people + 4 (on sofa beds) along with additional space for z beds and cots. If you include Park Cottage, a separate cottage across the field, which sleeps 12 + 2 (on day beds), then we can comfortably accommodate a total of 47 guests together on the Estate.

Park Cottage – There is ample parking for your whole group in front of the property. Our full terms and conditions can be found at the bottom of this page.

If you have to cancel your booking at any time the full amount will only be refunded if the property is re-let for the dates of your stay. The refund amount may be reduced by up to 20% if we have to drop the price in order to get another booking. If we don’t get another booking we will still return a goodwill set amount of £200 to you.

Please note we do not provide holiday insurance – we strongly urge you to take out your own insurance to cover this holiday.

Our changeover days are Fridays and Mondays. We can take bookings on a Friday for 3 or 7 nights, and for 4 nights from a Monday. These aren’t flexible I’m afraid.

During Christmas and New Year we only offer a 7 night break.

There is also a double futon in the Attic Suite of the Main Hall and a double sofa bed in the Theatre Dining Room for additional guests if required.

In Park Cottage we have two single day beds in the sun room off the Master Bedroom which can sleep two additional guests.

Unfortunately our insurance doesn’t allow for additional guests beyond these numbers, to stay overnight.

Your Stay

All three of our holiday cottages can be accessed on ground level via built in ramps or straight from outside – The Hall is straight from outside, The West Wing is via a shingle ramp and Park Cottage is via a slabbed ramp.

In the Main Hall and Theatre no bedrooms can be accessed on ground level – the Master bedroom in the Theatre is on the ground floor but there are four steps down from the Theatre’s external door or four steps up from the Theatre’s sitting room to access this bedroom. Once accessed this bedroom is spacious and has a large bathroom with large corner bath and a spacious walk-in shower.

In the West Wing there are three small bedrooms on the ground floor but the bathrooms are not very big.

Park Cottage is all on ground level. The master bedroom has access to a large bathroom with an open wet room style shower and fold down seat. This room also has a SuperKing bed. Access into the back garden is also straight onto a patio area, via a small drop down at the door threshold.

Yes we do allow up to 2 dogs per property at no extra cost. We do ask all dog owners to adhere to these guidelines (failure to do so may result in additional charges).

Dogs must be under strict control at all times while on the property.
Any dog mess is cleared up from the gardens.

The owner must bring the dog’s bed or basket for sleeping in.
Dogs must not be left alone in the property.
Dogs must be kept off the furniture.
Dogs are to be kept downstairs and in the communal areas only please.
We discourage noisy dogs due to the proximity of the other accommodation, please be respectful of the neighbouring properties.

Yes, you can. Please see our ‘Recommended Suppliers’ section for a list of local companies. We do ask that you let us know and we will require a copy of the companies’ Public Liability Insurance emailing to [email protected].

The nearest shops are Norfolk Lavender Farm Shop, Lidl or Tesco Express in Heacham, each are a 5/6 minute drive away. A large Tesco and small Sainsburys are also located in Hunstanton, 10 minutes away.

You can get Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose or Sainsbury deliveries to the property using the postcode PE36 5LT. We suggest putting a brief description of which property you are staying in just to make sure they find you. Full directions can be found at ‘How To Find Us’.

In order for our guests to have the pool to themselves we have put a Rota system in place. Each day, between 8am and 6pm, is divided into equal sessions for each Holiday Cottage to have private access included as part of the accommodation booking. Private Sessions are also available to the general public to book, in the early morning before 8am or after 6pm or all day Friday during our cottage changeover. Should our holiday guests wish to add to their Rota times, you are also able to book these sessions. Please contact us at [email protected] to arrange this.

You will be sent out an updated copy of the Rota at booking and then again approximately one month prior to your stay.
